LCE is pleased to introduce our new Sustainability Consultant, Sonia Rosenblatt

LCE is delighted to welcome another member to our growing team.

Sonia has joined LCE as a Sustainability Consultant, bringing a wealth of knowledge with her master’s in environmental studies and a Graduate Diploma in Business & the Environment.

Sonia commented, “I am very happy to have joined LCE as I am very passionate about the environment and how we can help protect it in every way possible. The most exciting part about my job is knowing that I am helping organisations meet their net zero goals. Speaking with like-minded people who understand why working towards a more sustainable planet is also very exciting.”

Darren Jones, CEO added, “a huge welcome to Sonia, who is a fantastic addition to the team. I look forward to Sonia becoming more involved and supporting our clients with their sustainability agenda

We asked Sonia some questions and loved hearing what she had to say:

Who inspires you?

David Attenborough, Ricky Gervais and Greta Thunberg inspire me. I am inspired by their focus and dogged determination to make a difference even if it’s controversial and unpopular. But I’m also inspired by anyone who takes a risk and puts their head above the parapet to make change.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about the natural environment and animal welfare. I’ve been lucky to have seen the Kermode Bear (Spirit Bear) along the Pacific Coast of British Columbia and I spent three months volunteering on four wildlife reserves in South Africa and Botswana. I’ve seen iconic animals up close and it’s an experience I will never forget. What we do thousands of miles away affects wildlife and their environment no matter how remote they are.

Do you have a talent or hobby you do outside of work?

Outside of work I volunteer for Cats Protection, cleaning out their pens and making the cats more comfortable in what will be quite a stressful situation for them. Seeing them find a new home is so rewarding.

What’s something you would like to do this year that you have never done before?

I’m planning on taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge in 2023, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden in 24 hours. I’m eager to set myself a difficult challenge and raise money for an animal charity at the same time. I love mountains and animals, so this way I get to combine both!

Can you describe your typical day working in the LCE Team?

There is no typical day at LCE which is what I love about the job. The work is varied, whether it be writing proposals, designing a behaviour change campaign or doing a site visit.

Welcome to the team Sonia.
