The LCE team is pleased to introduce Mark Armstrong as our Principal Engineer. Mark joined the company back in June and has made a very positive impact on the team. His journey into energy efficiency began back in 2004, while working in the Chemical sector, when he was tasked with a project to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption. The involvement in this project led to his evolution into Energy Management.
Darren Jones, CEO says “Mark has been a great addition to the team. His 20 years of experience in Energy Management provide us with valuable insight, which has made a positive impact on our clients and their energy efficiency journeys."
We asked Mark a few questions about his interests.

Who inspires you? Quite a few people, however, Demmings and Crosby have been my biggest inspirations during my working career
What are you passionate about? Energy Reduction, Process improvement and my Family.
What’s the best task you are working on right now? An NHS client's energy reduction plans, assisting them in reducing carbon so they are no longer being fined.
Do you have a talent or hobby you do outside of work?
I go running, however, I do not do it as much as I should.
What’s something you would like to do this year that you have never done before?
Run a Marathon
What is the most exciting part about your job?
Helping organisations achieve carbon and energy savings.
Can you describe your typical day working in the LCE Team?
Nice early start, check emails etc, open up project selected for the day, work through data, plan site audit and research potential solutions. Other days spent travelling, which is a huge part of our roles.
What advice would you give to someone looking to craft an energy/sustainability management plan?
Take your time, have the correct data to enable you to establish a plan. Keep it realistic, do not have too many short term gains, 2-5 year plans are best.
What are your personal plans/goals for the coming year?
Assist the team in improving our outputs, improve the team's morale and understanding of energy management, assist in moving the organisation into the private sector as well as the public.
