The GK Group offsets 19 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide!

The GK Group incorporating GK Transformation (GKT) and Low Carbon Europe (LCE) have taken the initiative to offset all our yearly carbon (Co2) emissions as part of our on-going commitment to minimizing our impact on the environment, working towards a sustainable future and improved sustainable business processes.

We are delighted to have funded the Woodland Trust to create 475m2 of new native woodland. In time this will absorb at least 19 tonnes of carbon dioxide, helping with our strategy to reduce our business carbon footprint.

The Woodland Trust Carbon project is certified under the Woodland Carbon Code which is the UK’s first ever government approved carbon certification scheme.

Darren Jones Group Technical Director and LCE – Managing Director said “We are pleased to be able to support the Woodland Trust as part of our overall commitment to reducing our business carbon foot print. We continue to work with the objective of a year on year carbon reduction and this is set out within the objections of our environmental management systems (EMS) ISO14001”. This year on year improvement is made possible by all of our staff collectively working to find and implement carbon saving opportunities, an achievement of which they can all be proud.”
