LCE has attained the Planet Mark certification for a fifth consecutive year, recognising continued commitment in measuring, and reducing the company’s carbon footprint on an annual basis.
Andy Bennett, Group Director of Operations at LCE said, "Here at LCE, we help private and public sector organisations reduce their energy use and carbon footprint. Within this, we are keen to show our clients and partners what it means to us, by taking our own steps to reduce. Whilst we have some reductions through lockdowns and limited access to client sites, we have also changed our business practices so that many of these savings can be kept in the long term. We use Planet Mark to certify our achievements to ensure that we are being held accountable for our emissions, as we do for our clients. We’re very proud of the reductions we’ve made since we partnered, and we’re excited to see how we can do more in future."
Over the past 12 months, LCE has been making great efforts to help bring their carbon emissions down. One of our main aims was to make a conscious team effort to consider the necessity of travelling to and from client sites. These efforts saw our carbon footprint drop to 5.1 TCO2e a decrease of 24.7% from 2020 as well as the total carbon footprint per employee was 0.6 TCO2e.
Steve Malkin, Founder and CEO of Planet Mark said, “As dedicated and experienced professionals in sustainability, it comes as no surprise that Low Carbon Europe (LCE) have achieved Planet Mark certification for another year. Contributing to nine United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through their certification, it is a pleasure to work with true leaders who are walking the walk on sustainability. Sustainability is at the heart of what LCE does, and it’s made clear to employees and customers alike. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress made in the future. I look forward to seeing continued efforts to reduce the business’ carbon emissions in years to come.”
