What is a DEC?

A Display Energy Certificate (DEC) shows the energy performance of a building based on actual usage over a 12-month period.

Buildings are rated from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient), and certificates must be clearly displayed in public buildings

Do you need a DEC?

You are likely required to have a DEC if your building is:
 

  • Open to the public

  • Occupied by a public authority

  • Larger than 250m²
     

Requirements can vary depending on your building and usage our team can quickly confirm what applies to you.
